About the Journal

HIPATIA: International Kalimantan Studies is a peer-reviewed, open-access scientific journal dedicated to advancing multidisciplinary scholarship on Kalimantan within national and international contexts. The journal is managed by the Association of Kalimantan Studies Researchers (APSK) and supported by a distinguished editorial board composed of academics and researchers from reputable universities and institutions across Indonesia.

HIPATIA is published three times a year in April, August, and December. The journal accepts manuscripts in English, promoting broader academic dissemination and international engagement. All submissions undergo a rigorous double-blind peer-review process to ensure originality, academic merit, and adherence to publication ethics. The journal is committed to upholding international standards of editorial quality, transparency, and integrity in scholarly publishing.

The scope of HIPATIA encompasses multidisciplinary studies related to Kalimantan, including but not limited to social and cultural studies, law and governance, education, economics, environmental and sustainable development studies, politics, regional development, and innovation.

As part of its commitment to increasing academic visibility and impact, HIPATIA aims to be indexed in Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), SINTA (Science and Technology Index – Indonesia), and Index Copernicus International (ICI).
